Some Republicans again nominated Rep. Byron Donalds for the sixth round of voting in opposition to Rep. Kevin McCarthy.

In the fourth and fifth rounds of voting Wednesday, Donalds received 20 votes — coming from a group of lawmakers who refuse to support McCarthy.

On the other side of the aisle, Democrats have stayed united, supporting their party leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries. He has received all 212 Democratic votes on all five ballots so far.

In his nomination of the Democrat, Rep. Pete Aguilar called Jeffries the “lead vote-getter” in the last five rounds.
